What are Vape Tanks?
A vape tank or atomiser is the most important component to your e-cigarette. This is because not only is it where you add your e-liquid, but it’s also where the cloud vapour is produced via heating up the coil. When you choose a tank, you need to make sure it’s compatible with the other vaping mods you’ve chosen, so if you’re unsure, we do recommend keeping to the same brand to avoid any problems.
You’ll find that most vape tanks have a slide or unscrew function at the top – this is where you pour in your e-liquid.
What are the different sizes?
The different sizes of vape tanks is generally linked to the brand that you choose and the type of vaping you’re looking to achieve. Mouth to lung tanks (MTL) are a variety of sizes, from shorter, cylindrical tanks through to longer, sleeker looking devices. If you want to produce large plumes as part of your vaping experience, you’ll want to consider sub ohm tanks. These tanks are all similar sizes, but there are lots of great designs and styles to choose from.
What are airflow options?
Airflow is a personal choice for vapers and is dictated by the sort of vaping experience you want. Tighter airflow equals a stronger flavour from your e-liquid, and looser airflow is ideal if you’re looking to create bigger clouds. Your vape will allow you to change the airflow settings whenever you feel like it, so you can play around until you find your preferred experience.
How to clean tanks
To make sure your tank stays in tip top condition, we recommend you clean it at least once a week. It’s easy to do, simply rinse with lukewarm water and use a tissue or a cotton bud to remove any remaining e-liquid and dry the tank. You may need to repeat the process once or twice so it’s squeaky clean before refilling. You should always give the tank a clean before changing flavours too.
Choosing the right tank
Here are a few handy tips for choosing the right vaping tank:
- If you like thicker vapour plumes, go for a sub ohm tank.
- Rebuildable tanks are usually for more experienced vapers as there’s more room for customisation.
- MTL or mouth or lung tanks are ideal if you’re keen to try something that’s not too dissimilar from smoking. Aside from getting a good nicotine hit, you’ll also get the most out of your chosen e-liquid flavour.
